Low tide often reveals surprises and this black and white photo shows one of those. Driving on Alaska's Seward Highway south of Anchorage took me to a pullout at Beluga Point during low tide in the Cook Inlet. The scenery across the water was impressive and was enhanced by patterns in the mud formed by water flowing as the tide dropped. Atmospheric haze across the inlet was not reduced since I wanted the mountains to feel more distant. To further develop the feeling of depth in the photograph, I developed the film N+1 to enhance foreground texture.
