Summer melt from glaciers in the Columbia Icefield fill the Athabasca River and fuel this waterfall into a powerful torrent of whitewater. Rocks surrounding the falls seem to depict Athabasca Indian faces quietly keeping watch. The camera faced the sun so reflections from the water were extremely bright compared to shadowed rock.
